Under the Controller’s Office, the Cost Analysis Office provides strategic financial analysis, regulatory oversight, and institutional support for WashU’s cost recovery activities. By ensuring compliance with federal regulations, university policies, and cost accounting standards, the office strengthens financial stewardship and supports the resources that advance WashU’s mission of research, education, patient care, and discovery.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate WashU’s Facilities & Administrative (F&A) rates and Fringe Benefit rates.
- Support Recharge Centers and Specialized Service Facilities (SSFs).
- Coordinate the annual space survey used for internal and external allocations.
- Support audit reviews and ensure cost compliance.
